What is stored and for how long

This is how Company Visitors is set up at our company today. For your website, we set the retention periods in the concept.

  • Company name Beispiel AG From the name the network operator reports for the network. If it is missing, from the domain. How long: 90 days
  • Network operator and network number Beispiel AG, AS64512 As the network is registered on the internet. How long: 90 days
  • Domain beispiel-ag.example From the host name of the IP address, the last two parts. How long: 90 days
  • Location and country Musterstadt, CH Estimated from the IP address. Often the location of the network, not of the company. How long: 90 days
  • Pages visited /preise/, /kontakt/ Only the path, without anything after ? and #. At most 25 per connection and day. How long: 90 days
  • First and last page view 09:14 and 09:31 Date and time, per connection and day. How long: 90 days
  • Entry key visit:date:shorthash A short hash from the IP address, the day and a secret salt. It changes every day. How long: 90 days
  • Count per filter reason Beispiel Telecom AG: 12 How many page views the filter kept or discarded. Plus up to 60 names per day and reason. That is the network operator, and if it is missing, the domain. Never the full host name. How long: 100 days

What it never stores

  • The IP address. It is only held in working memory during identification. It does not go into the log at Cloudflare. Of the host name, at most the domain is stored.
  • Cookies. The tracking tag does not set any.
  • Who viewed the page. It does not identify people. If a company is named after its owner, that name appears as the company name.

We treat identification via IP addresses as processing of personal data. The retention period of the log is set by Cloudflare, as of 8 October 2026.

Sample data. Companies, locations, pages and figures are made up. None of it is stored anywhere except in the browser. The real data names companies that visited a website and does not belong on a public page.
